MERIT500 conducts the Nordic region's most comprehensive survey regarding the remuneration for the Nordic Board members, as well as of the CEO's and C-level remuneration and its composition. This information is obtained from the company's annual reports, the minutes from the Annual General Meeting, and the database MERIT500.

Report, Board remuneration (Based on listed companies from 25 countries)

  • Board-information: Average, median, maximum, and minimum remuneration for both the Board member and the Chairperson of the Board and taking account the committees' fees and the size of these committees.
  • The report contains figures for 2021 (figures for 2022 will be available in May/June 2022) and 2020 that show whether the remuneration has increased, decreased or is unchanged.
  • In the presentation of results, we include the upper quartile, the lower quartile together with the median and average in the selected target groups.
  • In our target group analysis to see which companies are most suitable for benchmarking, we consider different criteria, for example: market value, sector, EPS, and if the client wants, other criterions will be included.

Report, CEO remuneration (Based on listed companies from 25 countries)

  • CEO-information Average, median, maximum, and minimum compensation in terms of total cost of CEO remuneration. The report shows breakdown of basic salary, variable remuneration, pension contributions, share-based remuneration, other benefits (for example car compensation).
  • The report contains figures for 2020 and 2019 (figures for 2021 will be available after summer 2022) that show whether the remuneration has increased, decreased or is unchanged.
  • In the presentation of results, we include the upper quartile, the lower quartile together with the median and average in the selected target groups.
  • In our target group analysis to see which companies are most suitable for benchmarking, we consider different criteria, for example: market value, sector, EPS, and if the client wants, other criterions will be included.

C-level remuneration report (listed companies): Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden (also unlisted companies), UK, USA

  • C-elevel information Average, median, maximum, and minimum compensation in terms of total cost regarding the different C-level positions different remuneration. In some countries we can also offer breakdowns of the total salary, for example, performance-based salary etc.
  • The report contains figures for 2020 (figures for 2021 will be available after summer 2022) and 2019 that show whether the remuneration has increased, decreased or is unchanged.
  • MERIT500 will conduct C-level research regarding the clients´ Management Team and what positions that are included in this group. The purpose of this research is to understand which companies that are most suitable for a benchmarking.
  • We will use the client’s positions in the Management Team for the benchmarking companies. For example:
    CEO (Chief Executive Officer)
    CFO (Chief Financial Officer)
    Usually there are 5 positions included in the report but there is possibility of adding extra positions for an extra cost.
